Howard D Petheram

January 05, 1930 - March 03, 2017

Howard Petheram was born January 5, 1930, in Marcus, WA, to William & Lenore Petheram, and passed away March 3, 2017, in Spokane, WA. Howard grew up and attended school in Yakima. He went on to join the United State Marine Corp; serving from 1948 to 1952. Howard married Barbara Dickinson on October 29, 1955, in Spokane, WA. They made their home in Spokane Valley but wintered in Yuma, AZ for 13 years and enjoyed summers at their cabin, at Priest Lake. Howard worked mainly as a truck driver, and he took great pride in his trucks. He retired from Seeds Inc. at the age of 80 years. - Howard spent many hours watching and enjoying sport, including boxing, football, NASCAR, and ZAGS basketball. He enjoyed gardening and had a green-thumb. He also enjoyed fishing, feeding and watching his birds, and he had a soft-spot for dogs, especially Sasha. Howard was a Master Mason, since 1958 (Audubon Park), Scottish Rite of Freemasonry 32nd degree, since 1968, and an El Katif Shriner. Howard is survived by his wife of 61 years, Barbara Petheram; sons, Doug (Alice) Shafer, and Russell Petheram; daughter, Kathy (Dave) Tellessen; brother, Gerald Petheram; twelve grandchildren; and fifteen great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by, his parents; three brothers; one sister; and daughter, Kellie. He will be sadly missed. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, April 8, 2017, at 1:30PM, at Pines Mausoleum Chapel, 12116 E 16th Ave, Spokane Valley, WA.
