Helen was born in Canal Winchester, Ohio on May 12, 1926. She graduated from Miami University in Ohio and went on to earn her Master's Degree at the University of Illinois. She moved to Spokane, Washington in 1965. Helen passed away peacefully at her home with her husband of 63 years, Emmett Burley, by her side, as well as her daughters, Isabel Burley- Crowe and Betty Burley-Wolf. Helen was a strong Christian, she was a member of Hamblen Park Presbyterian Church and was also a bible study fellowship leader for 25 years. She enjoyed spending summers at Hayden Lake and was an active tennis player; she also loved gardening and grew many beautiful flowers. Helen is survived by her husband, Emmett Burley of Spokane. WA; daughters, Betty (Gary) Burley-Wolf of Liberty Lake, WA, Isabel (Glenn) Burley-Crowe of Bellingham, WA; five grandchildren, Christine Crowe of Bellingham, WA, Penelope Crowe and grandson-in-Iaw Ryan Gilbreth of Peoria, AZ, Joshua Crowe of Bellingham, WA, Rebecca Wolf of Bozeman, MT, and Margaret Wolf of Salt Lake City, UT.
