December 12, 1939 - November 23, 2020
Gray, George Robert 80 years Beloved husband, father & “Papa." He passed away November 23, 2020 at Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center due to Covid complications. Born in Yakima, Washington on December 12, 1939 and was the son of Frank & Catherine Gray. George is survived by his wife of 44 yrs, Kathryn, son Kasey, daughter Natalie (Todd) Gregg and grandchildren, Dakota, Hayden, Tia & Tristan. He is also survived by his brother, Frank (Karen) and sisters, Freda (Willoughby) and Gloria (Birnbaum). He was preceded in death by sisters Elva, Cathy and Shirley and brothers Fred and Jim. A proud veteran with the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam war, he served on the USS Bon Homme Richard (CVA-31). George then retired from BNSF Railroad serving for over 34 years and previously worked at Kaiser Aluminum. His hobbies included a deep interest in history, primarily the Civil War. He also enjoyed watching WWE wrestling, Mariner’s baseball and Seahawks football. However in all honesty, he was only a fan when they won. He was a incredible woodworker, artist and knew how to fix about anything. This was apparent on the 34 years of restorations he made on our 100 year old home. He truly enjoyed chatting with his neighbors and considered them all friends. Everyone knew George for his kindness, incredible sense of humor and infectious laugh. He deeply loved his family and absolutely adored and doted on his grandchildren. We loved him deeply and truly he was one of a kind. There is a brighter star in heaven now. Due to Covid restrictions, family and friends will have a celebration of life for George at a date to be determined later.
