George Edward Wagner

May 30, 1937 - November 21, 2013

WAGNER, George Edward ""Eddie"" ""The Starbucks Man"" Hearing the call of the pipes Eddie followed his clansmen and brethren to the loving bosom of Christ in God's amazing grace on November 21, 2013. Born in Seattle to George and Mary Jordan Wagner in 1937. All four of Eddie's grandparents were immigrants to America of which he was the eldest grandchild. Called the ""Starbucks Man"" because he was a patron since Starbucks founding in 1971 at the Pike Place Market in Seattle. He was a man for all seasons and a standup guy. Eddie was so many things to so many people; words cannot express what he meant to his family and friends. Eddie was an American of Irish, Scottish and Briton stock, with a compassionate Gaelic heart. His amazing sense-of humor and Gaelic wit brightened all our lives. Eddie had a zest for life and he was a master of blarney and spinner of tales. Our laughter now has turned to tears for the simple fact that we will never meet another Eddie. He held numerous honors as well as memberships in both Irish organizations and Scottish Clan Societies. He was a theologian, former Franciscan Friar and a bold champion against anti-Semitism. Eddie was the recipient of the ""Guardian of Israel"" Award from a major Jewish organization. Eddie was loved by so many. We know that he will be waiting for us in the world to come. So we bid him in our Gaelic Tradition BEANNACHD LEIBH EAMONN which means ""Blessings go with you, Eddie"". You will be so greatly missed by your loving family, clansmen, friends and the Starbucks World. 'Every saint has a past, and every sinner has a future'. Survived by Becky his loving bride; sons: William (Molly) Wagner of Newport, WA., Cameron (Paris) Wagner of Orting, WA., Sean (Katie) Wagner of Spokane Valley, WA. and Joseph (Paola) Wagner of Dallas, TX; daughters Perri Rochelle of Tulalip, WA., Angela (Patrick) Briggs of Seattle, WA., and Patricia Makenna Wagner of Seattle, WA; 15 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren; and two non-human family members: Bobbi McGee and Bryce McMurdo. Preceded in death by his parents George and Mary, sister Judy Wagner Ford, and two sons Jeffrey and Nicholas Wagner. Eddie will be buried in soil from Galway, Ireland and St. Bride's Church ancient cemetery in Douglasdale, Scotland.
