Elva J. Franklin

July 18, 1936 - June 16, 2017

Elva J. (McManus) Franklin, 80, of Spokane, WA, went to be with the Lord on June 16, 2017. Elva was born to Matthew McManus and Ruth (Thompson) McManus on July 18, 1936 in Walla Walla, WA. She grew up in Walla Walla and attended Weston High School where she met the love of her life LeRoy. She married LeRoy on December 18, 1955 and was a United States Air Force wife for 21 years. She then went on to be a dietician, and in her later years did construction work at Inland Empire Paper Company. Some of her hobbies were bowling, playing bingo, sewing, and she was an extremely talented quilter. Elva is survived by two of her sisters, Agnes Shearer and Stella Kerr; daughter, Gail Katherine Franklin; son, Matthew Duane (Sariclee) Franklin; daughter, Patricia Ann (Jeff) Eslick; son, Paul Douglas (Melissa) Franklin; 8 grandchildren, and 6 great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her father, Matthew McManus; mother, Ruth (Thompson) McManus; husband, LeRoy Franklin; her three brothers, Malcom, Ted, and Albert; and three of her sisters,Goldie, Leona, and Kaye. A memorial service will be held Saturday, August, 12 at 2:00 p.m. at Valley Real life located at 1831 S. Barker Rd.; Greenacres, WA 99016.
