Dean Dee Dykes

August 07, 1946 - February 21, 2017

Dean was born on August 7, 1946 in Coeur dAlene, Idaho and spent his whole life in the Spokane / Coeur dAlene area. He passed away on Tuesday, February 21, 2017 at his home in Spokane, WA. He had a lifelong love of the outdoors. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. His love of motorcycles started in his youth with riding dirt bikes, and later he spent years riding Harley Davidson motorcycles with his wife Diana. For most of his adult life, Dean worked for Kaiser Aluminum Trentwood. Dean and his wife of more than twenty years, Susan Stone, had two children, Ron and Michelle. Dean and Diana were married for fifteen years, until her death in 2009. Dean is survived by his son, Ron Dykes and his wife Arielle, and their daughter India, of Spokane, WA; his brother, John Dykes and his wife Donna, and their children Tyler and Amber, of Spokane Valley WA; his sister, Judy Jacobson and her daughters, of Albany NY; and grandson, Russell Hattal, son of Michelle Dykes, of Olympia, WA. He was preceded in death by his parents, Betty Ruth Munn Dykes and Leslie Earl Dykes; his wife of 15 years, Diana Lynn Dykes; and his daughter, Michelle Lee Dykes. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 4th at 1:00 pm at United Steelworkers Local 338 Union Hall at 14015 E Trent Ave, Spokane Valley, WA 99216.
