David Wayne Baker

September 01, 1928 - May 24, 2015

BAKER, David W. (age 86) Baker, David W, Major, USAF, Retired, joined his Heavenly Father on Sunday, May 24th, 2015. David was born in Tacoma, WA on September 1st, 1928, to William George Baker and Margaret Baker Dacy. He graduated from Stadium High School, Tacoma and the University of Tampa, Tampa FL. David was a devoted husband to Ann M, and a loving father to sons Michael W, Patrick J and William D. He is survived by his sister, Donna White, and brothers-in-law Shannon White and Dennis Dilley; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his sister, Judith Dilley. David was a family man, much to the delight of his sons and their friends, and enjoyed fixing bikes for neighborhood children. He was a voracious reader, and loved to grow tomatoes, play with his train collection and support his boys’ activities, such as Indian Guides, Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts. His pride and joy were his grandchildren: Jordan, Dustin, Nicholas and Jessica. Services will be held at 2PM, Wednesday, June 3rd, at Pines Cemetery, 1402 S Pines, Spokane Valley, WA. Reception to follow at 4PM, at VFW Post 1435, 212 S David St, Spokane Valley.
