Amy Irene Hatfield

October 29, 1968 - December 18, 2015

Amy passed away December 18, 2015, at Hospice House of Spokane, with family and friends by her side. She was diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer November 2012, after it had spread throughout her body. She had little chance of surviving, but like the fighter she was, she gave it her all, even knowing in the end she wasn’t going to win. Amy trusted her doctors at Cancer Care Northwest with all her heart and soul, and loved every one of them that helped her through these 3 years of fighting. Amy was born October 29, 1968, to Jim and Connie (Baldwin) Hatfield in Colfax, Washington. Amy attended South Pines Elementary, Bowdish Junior High, and University High School, where she graduated in 1987. She attended Spokane Community College’s Cosmetology program, graduated and worked for Supercuts for 25 years as a hair cutter, stylist, and shop manager. Amy never met a stranger and she was liked by everyone she met. Amy was a diehard Dallas Cowboys fan. She also enjoyed attending her niece Ellie’s volleyball games, even if she didn’t feel good. Amy is survived by her mother, Connie; her brother, Darrin (Drue) and her two special nieces who were the sparkle in her eyes, Ellie and Halle; Uncle Bill; Aunt Lee; Aunt Lynn; Grandma Faith and Grandpa Lee; and all her wonderful cousins and many friends. Amy was preceded in death by her father, Jim; Grandpa and Grandma Baldwin; and Uncle Kent. A Celebration of Amy’s Life will be held at Darcy’s Restaurant at the old U-City on Saturday, January 2, 2016 at 2pm. All donations can be made to: Cancer Care Northwest 1204 N. Vercler Rd.
