August 09, 1933 - June 09, 2016

HOADLEY, Marion Grace (McKittrick) - Age 82 Marion was born in Spokane, WA on August 9, 1933, the daughter of Ivo L. McKittrick and Grace U. McKittrick, nee McCartney. In her youth, Marion lived in Northern Idaho and Eastern Washington. She graduated from Otis Orchards, WA High School in 1951. She and Dan were married in St. Pascle’s Catholic Church on November 16, 1951. Dan was a member of the U.S. Navy, which took the family to many duty stations. One of Dan’s fondest memories is that Marion was always on the dock waiting for him when his ship returned to port. During those years, Marion worked as a personnel clerk at various U.S. Navy installations. When Dan retired, the family returned to Otis Orchards where they built their home. Marion took an active part in the building, helping set foundation forms and nailing down sub floors. When the walls were ready to be erected, she surprised everyone by altering the floor plan by laying out new wall locations using masking tape. She earned a certificate as a Medical Records Clerk from Spokane Community College and worked for the Spokane County Health District. In 1981, she and Dan moved to Ketchikan, AK, where she discovered her love of cruising and fishing the waters of Southeast Alaska. While there, she worked for the State Department of Health and Social Services, retiring in 1989. She and Dan returned to Otis, staying for a few years but returned to their place on Pippin Lake in Alaska. They finally moved back to their home in Otis in 2000 where Marion enjoyed her retirement years collecting clocks, gardening, canning fruits and vegetables, knitting, reading and visits from her grandchildren and their children. Marion is survived by her husband, Dan Hoadley of Otis Orchards, WA; two sons, Daniel L. Hoadley Jr., of Glennallen, AK and Dennis A. Hoadley of Palmer, AK; two daughters, Jennifer S. (Alan) Hinkle of Angier, NC and Jana C. Misztal of Spokane, WA; two brothers, Larry McKittrick of Leavenworth, WA and Garry McKittrick of Spokane, WA; 14 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. Marion was preceded in death by her daughter, Victoria C. Brown (nee. Allen, nee. Bailey) and her brothers, David L. McKittrick and Dennis I. McKittrick. In accordance with Marion’s wishes, there will be no services held. Community Cremation & Funeral Spokane Valley - 13127 E.
