John Francis Henry

July 30, 1946 - April 13, 2014

Of Spokane, Washington, passed away Sunday, April 13, 2014 at Hospice House in Spokane. He was born July 30, 1946 in Philadelphia, PA to Francis and Barbara Henry. After attending high school in Philadelphia, he went on to attend Pennsylvania State University. In 1969, he joined the U.S. Air Force and while stationed at Fairchild Air Force Base he met his future bride. In 1972, he married Virginia Callaway of Albion, Washington. He later went on to earn his Masterâ??s degree in Business Administration at Eastern Washington University. Before Retirement, John spent 30 years with the City of Spokane as a Zoning Enforcement Officer. John is survived by his wife of 41 years, Virginia, daughter Erika (Scott), son Jim (Lauren), and grandchildren Marcus and Zoey Henry. He is also survived by his mother, Barbara Henry of Florida. John was preceded in death by his father Francis and his brother, Raymond. A memorial is planned for Saturday, April 26, at 2:00 PM at Corbin Senior Activity Center at 827 W. Cleveland, Spokane. With a reception to follow. Interment will be at a later date. Arrangements are being handled by Community Cremation of Spokane. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to Hospice of Spokane.
