July 30, 1959 - November 16, 2015

Douglas Owen Fossmeyer - On July 30, 1959, Douglas Owen Fossmeyer was born in Vincennes, Indiana, to his parents, Susan and Fred Fossmeyer. He is the youngest brother of Vicki Fielden, the older brother of LeAnne Fossmeyer and the husband of Sherri Bangs. Doug graduated from Linfield College where he majored in Computer Science and began his career in the Social Services field in Salem,Oregon. He then proceeded into the field of technology for the Spokane School District. - Doug was a renaissance man. He loved reading, drawing, painting, taking photos and playing guitar. He was so talented! He could design and build anything from home furniture to an actual barn. For most of his adult life, Doug lived first in Salem Oregon and then in Deer Park, Washington with his wife of many years, Sherri Bangs. He enjoyed living outside the city where he was surrounded by trees, the open sky, birds & woodland creatures and his many pets. - On Monday, November 16, 2015, Doug passed away, leaving behind his wife, Sherri; sisters, Vicki and LeAnne; father, Fred; sister-in-law, Karen Phelps; brother-in-law, Jon Bangs; nephews, Chris and Ian; nieces, Lindsey, Courtney and Paige as well as many other relatives and friends. - Although he left us too soon, Doug will always be remembered for who he was in his prime; a kind, gentle, intelligent, humble and talented spirit. Doug was the type of man of which there are too few. This earth could use many more men like Doug. - In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to Hospice of Spokane - (https://www.hospiceofspokane.org/giving/)/
