Wayne Norman Winters

June 13, 1927 - November 19, 2017

Wayne Norman Winters (Age 90) was born in Vale, OR on June 13, 1927. He passed into glory on November 19, 2017. He is preceded in death by his wife of 49 years (before her passing) Thelma Florence Winters, parents; Hazel Ruby (Page) and Frank Albert Winters, siblings Leora Hoenshelt, Maxwell Winters, Hershel Winters, Raymond Winters and Milo Mike Winters. He is survived by his sister Eva Weathers, and sisters-in-law Sharon Winters and Leslie Wood, along with his 4 children; Debra Arlene Winters (Kenneth Miller), Jeanette Gail (Mitchell) Mirus, Anita Louise (Michael) Cooper, and Ginny Rae Winters. He was also blessed with 9 grandchildren; Justin Weber, Thane Weber (deceased), Amy Brittain, Ryan Mirus, Melissa Mirus, Peter Mangum, Candy Winters, Michelle Cooper, and Grant Cooper, and 5 great-grandchildren; Jade Weber, Katie Weber, Paige Weber, Connor Brittain and Madaline Brittain. Wayne had loved growing up on a cattle ranch in Eastern Oregon. He went on to serve in the US Army for 2 years and had the job of Military Policeman. He rode horses on patrol and slept in the stable with the horses. He was also employed by Carnation Dairy Company at which he worked all positions in the processing plant, and also drove truck to the farms and picked up milk in a tanker. After that he went into the chicken farm business and was a manager for northwest egg sales on several farms. Wayne was also a licensed Minister and Pastor for many years, performing the weddings of all 4 of his daughters. He and Thelma spent several years in their motor home being snowbirds, finally coming home to roost with daughter Ginny in Spokane. We celebrate them being together again. Wayne will be inurned with Thelma at Spokane Memorial Gardens. A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, December 10 at 2:00 PM at the Sinto Senior Center, 1124 W. Sinto Ave, Spokane, WA 99201.
