Violet Mary Fisher

May 21, 1925 - December 13, 2017

Violet (Age 92) of Davenport, WA, passed away December 13, 2017 at Vista Manor in Wilbur, WA. She was born to Harry and Veta Knappert on May 21, 1925, at the home of her grandparents Eli and Myrtle Warring, north of Davenport in the Egypt area known as Sand Flats. She grew up and graduated from Davenport High School in 1943. Violet was brought up in the Lutheran Church and will be remembered for her faith in God and devotion to her church. Violet moved to the YWCA in Spokane in 1943 to work 4 years at the Spokane Air Technical Service Command Supply Division, known today as Fairchild Airforce Base. On April 17, 1947, she married Wayne W. Fisher, her friend since childhood. In 1949, they moved to the Keller Ferry area where Wayne had taken a job with the WDOT to work on the Martha S Ferry. Violet lived there for 64 years, raising her family, enjoying being a home maker, reading from her book collection, dancing to Big Band music, playing cards, and working crossword puzzles like her mother. She moved back to Davenport in 2013, living at the Davenport Retirement Village. Violet is preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, and the love of her life, Wayne W. Fisher, her patents Harry and Veta Knappert, sister Bess Clark, brothers Arthur Knappert and Corky Knappert, nephew Neil Knappert and grandson Jeff Fisher. She is survived by her children; Tom Fisher, Jay (Linda) Fisher, Lisa (John) Portch, Matt (Rhonda) Fisher, grandchildren; Ashley (Allen) Simmons, Eli (Ember) Fisher, Sam Fisher, Gus Fisher, Adell Portch, Sarah (Will) Casey, and Amy (Tyler) Fisher, along with 7 great grandchildren, with one more due in March 2018, one great-greatgrandchild, and numerous extended family and friends. A Memorial Service will be held in April 2018. A private inurnment will be held at Riverside Memorial Park in Spokane. Please make memorial contributions to a charity of your choice.
