Scott Leroy Helt

December 15, 1954 - December 30, 2012

HELT, Scott Leroy (Age 58) Passed away in his sleep, December 30, 2012 at his home in Spokane, Washington. Scott was born December 15, 1954 to Harold (Bud) and Barbara Helt. He grew up in Kamiah, Idaho, where he graduated from high school in 1973. He married Carla Rae Dewey in 1974 and their first son, Kristopher, was born later that year. The couple moved to Argentina in 1981 where their second son, Adrian, was born. Scott later returned to Kamiah where he went to work at the family car dealership, H&H Motors. He married Alejandra Grosso, and they moved to Spokane, Washington, where he worked at Jaremko Nissan in the parts department for the next 27 years. Scott and Alejandra divorced in 2002. Scott was a talented musician who loved to play guitar and drums, and could play any instrument he had a mind to. He appreciated music of all kinds. He passionately enjoyed the outdoors, especially when hiking the trails along the Spokane River with his dogs. He also loved reminiscing with friends and family about his younger days camping at Red River, Orogrande, and Brown's cabin on the Lochsa. He loved to talk about when he and his friends would float the Clearwater River, go boating or snowmobiling. In addition to his sons, Kristopher of Clarkston, Washington and Adrian of Chico, California, he is survived by their mother Carla Olmstead of Lewiston, sisters Wendy Helt Koppang of Andros Island, Bahamas and Stacey Helt of Roi-Namur, Marshall Islands, his aunt Betty Pardue of Lewiston, ID, nieces Allison Harding Hunt and Sarah Koppang, nephews Jason Helt and Casey Koppang, and several great nieces, nephews, and cousins. He will be deeply missed, and we know he is at peace with his family and friends that have gone before
