Obituary for Sarah Angell Chellstorp
Sarah ‘Sally’ Chellstorp, 87, passed away peacefully on June 22, 2021 in Spokane, Washington. Sally was born in Moscow, Idaho on September 10, 1933. She grew up in Moscow spending most of her days with her best friends, the “B Street Gang”. She graduated from the University of Idaho and shortly after moved to California where she met her husband, Thorvald Chellstorp. In the early 60’s the couple moved to the Seattle area where they settled and raised two girls, Liann and Karen. After their girls grew up and both retired, Sally and Thor moved to Roseburg, Oregon spending the next 19 years in a beautiful home on the North Umpqua River. In 2012 they moved to a retirement community in Spokane to be closer to family.
Throughout her life Sally enjoyed camping, card games, gardening, going on drives with her husband. She never shied away from hard work, approaching even the most unpleasant task with a positive attitude. She volunteered with Tax-Aid, Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary, Garden Club fund-raising, and at the community store in her retirement community.
Sally was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend to many. She will be remembered by her husband of 61 years Thor, Liann and Steven, Karen and her husband Bill, and four grandchildren Justin, Dominic, Ariel, and Elise
