Robert was born in Spokane, WA to Gunnar and Catherine Wester, the youngest of three. He graduated from Gonzaga Preparatory School on May 30, 1961. After graduation, he found employment with the Department of Nature Resources and fought fires in Washington State. In June 1962, he enlisted in the United States Air force as a Radio Operator. He was honorably discharged on June 1966 after four years of service.
After his military service, Robert traveled throughout the United States as a Salesman. Later in life, he worked as a cab driver in Spokane, WA.
Robert was united in marriage to Pamela Day on February 7, 1986. They had just celebrated their 30th anniversary, by renewing their wedding vows, at St Mary of the Rosary Catholic Church. Robert, Pamela and their son, David, moved to Washington in 1986 and then to Chewelah, WA in 2002. Robert was a hardworking, loving person with a sense of humor that carried a little bit of sarcasm, which he passed onto to his son, David, who is a stand-up comedian. He was a very private person and enjoyed his time with family.
Robert is survived by his wife, Pamela; son, David; sister, Joan; mother-in-law, Mary Lou; brothers-in-law, William, Bryan, Al and Elijah; sisters-in-law, Becky, Chris, Corinne and, Pantada; nephews, and nieces.
