Ralph Edwin Jacobson

June 25, 1926 - July 20, 2016

Ralph passed away on July 20, 2016, at age 90, with his son and daughter-in-law, Ralph W. and Jackie Jacobson. He was born in Spirit Lake, Idaho on June 25, 1926 to Hans and Hilda Jacobson, he was fourth in line of five children. He attended schools in Idaho and Spokane. He met Donna Strong, the love of his life, when they were teens. They were married on May 22, 1943. Ralph and Donna had three children; Christina, Linda, and Ralph. Ralph was a general contractor. He loved to have family and friends come to his home. Linda wrote – “I have so many good memories of my dad. One of my favorites was when dad made his ski boat, I was about 12 years old; Christy and I were so excited to water ski. Another was when I was about 15 years old, when dad pulled me 18 miles around the lake. We loved the boat that dad had built. When I was 14 years old, dad started taking me hunting with him. I was about 58 years old when dad took me hunting once again, and I got a buck. Just so many good memories, all the great parties in his rec-room and around his pool, that he also built. Dad was always building something; that was his passion in life and he was very good at it. He was also excellent at playing the keyboard and accordion. He was a Swede, so it came naturally to him. He had a band called Moon Shiners, they played for many years at the Linger Longer in Spirit Lake, Idaho. I love you, Dad” – “Boo” Linda Jacobson Rucker. Ralph was preceded in death by his parents and siblings; his wife, Donna; and daughter, Christina Bourcey. “You were a great dad and I’m proud to be your son. You will be missed, we will be with you and mom soon. Love you, dad.” – Your son, Ralph. Special thanks to Tommy Jacobson, for always being there for dad and the family. Ralph had numerous grandchildren and great-great nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at the Sunset Chapel at Fairmount Memorial Park in Spokane on Saturday, August 6, 2016 at 12:00pm. Following the service will be a gathering at Franklin Park in Spokane. Pastor Happy Watkins will be officiating.
