Obituary for Perry Eugene Gorman

Perry Eugene Gorman was born on March 11, 1959 in Spokane, WA to Eugene and Marabelle Gorman (Tweedy). Surrounded by his loved ones, on August 5th, 2022, Perry lost his short but brave battle with cancer.

Perry was a devoted and doting father. His proudest achievement was raising two amazing children, Chelsea, and Cameron, with his former wife, Mary Gorman (Zane). Besides his family, drag racing was his biggest passion. He also loved building and working on race cars. He was a very talented mechanic and could fix almost anything. He was blessed to have formed many valued friendships with the wonderful people in the racing community. He also enjoyed traveling, fishing, camping, boating, and target shooting. In his spare time he could usually be found on his tractor, working on his beloved property in Deer Park, WA where he and his wife Shelby, recently finished building their dream home. For most of his life Perry lived in the Spokane area and worked in construction, sales, and corrections technology industries. He and business partners, Bob Ellis, and Jim Blair, formed Corrections Technology Group in 2015. He loved his work and was so proud of the friendships he made with the people he worked with over his entire career. Many of whom he thought of as family.

Perry is survived by his wife Shelby, daughter Chelsea, son Cameron, daughter-in-law Kairi (Machella), former wife Mary and her partner Ron, bonus sons Brad and Matt Rowland, brothers Scott (Garry) and Babe (Kerry), sister Michelle, many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and friends. Perry was preceded in death by his father Eugene Gorman, mother Marabelle Anne Bisson, stepfather Norvin Bisson, brothers Mark Gorman and Jim Davis, sister-in-law Sherry Davis, father-in-law Dick Zane, mother-in-law Phyllis Zane, and his beloved dogs Cadbury, Hercules, and Niko.

Perry was known for his great sense of humor, and his helpful and kind heart. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. A Celebration of Perry’s Life will be held on December 30, 2022 at 5:45 pm at The Fireside Lounge at CenterPlace in Spokane Valley, WA. Please join us for light dinner, drinks and reminiscing.
