You can wear this soldier’s boots
but don’t tread his path too lightly.
His love for
and country
Never wavered.
Even Slightly
If this soldiers’ boots
could talk they’d say
“his path was steep.”
And though with laces frayed
These promises he’d keep
Love his Family,
To his friends be always true,
And never-ever faltered
Under the Red, White, and Blue.
And so this soldier rests
under God’s watchful eye.
I wipe away a tear
and say
