Muriel Denise Dollfe

May 14, 1924 - August 20, 2015

DOLLFE, Muriel (Age 91) On the warm smoky evening of August 20, 2015, our beautiful mother Muriel passed away peacefully from this life of cares here on earth, to her Heavenly abode of glory, as her daughter Mary, read the words of Matthew 6:9 the Lord's Prayer to her. She lived her life in service to her family, neighbors, and anyone else who needed her. Not one to speak a word of condemnation to those who crossed her, she patiently endured the sufferings of life, and the trials we kids sometimes put her through! Muriel enjoyed doing her own yard work and gardening up until last year. She was a talented artist, masterful at needle point, and enjoyed sewing when she could. She was full of energy, sweetness, and loved spending time with family, friends, and those who came to visit. Mom, we love you and we are all going to miss you. Muriel was born May 14, 1924 in Fernie, B.C. as Muriel Denise Large, to Eugene Large (later known as John Gales) and Helene Garnaud Large. She spent her pre-school years living in Marsielle, France, and then moved to Spokane before starting school. She had a short career at Washington Water Power at which time she met and married our father, Matt Dollfe in 1954, and started our family. Muriel was preceded in death by her husband, Matthias Dollfe; her son Peter; brothers Adolph Gales, Louis Gales, and Henry Gales; and sisters Huberte Manfred and Sue Babin. She is survived by her twin brother, Maurice Gales and her daughter Mary Dollfe, both at the home; sons Paul Dollfe of Spokane; and Mike Dollfe. She was also blessed with grandchildren Max and Matthew; great-grandchild Isaiah; wonderful friends; Dorothy Welch of Oregon, Edna May Herbert of Spokane Valley and numerous nieces and nephews, many of whom have assisted Mary in taking care of both Muriel and her brother Maurice. A graveside service will be held August 31st, at 1:00pm at the Holy Cross Cemetery. We wish to thank Hospice of Spokane for their tender care.
