Michael A LeClaire

November 03, 1958 - March 27, 2014

of Spokane passed away Thursday, March 27 at the age of 55, after a long battle with cancer. Mike was born at Sacred Heart Hospital in Spokane on November 3, 1958. He attended Roosevelt Elementary, Sacajawea Middle School, and Lewis & Clark High School. In his teens, Mike lived at St. Joseph Catholic Orphanage and moved to Eugene, Oregon in his senior year of High School. There he worked as a mechanic until moving to California in 1982, where he worked as a cabinetmaker, and later as a building maintenance engineer for the Simi Valley Police Department. He met his lifetime love in 1985 and together, they returned to Spokane in 1992. Mike was a talented General Contractor by trade and was often called MacGyver, because he could fix and build just about anything. He loved crabbing at the Oregon coast, boating, fishing, and playing guitar. He is survived by his significant other Lea Gratton, twin sons Steven and Anthony LeClaire, stepson Jesse Gratton, siblings Steve, Dennis, Jeanne, Sharon, Don, Kathy, and Kim, and mother and stepfather Hilma and Jim Guse. Mikeâ??s faith was strong, and he is now at peace in Godâ??s loving arms. He will be missed dearly. Our family is deeply grateful for the help and support given to us during his last year of life.
