Max A. Harrington

July 20, 1935 - August 11, 2016

Born July 20, 1935 to Roy and Ethel Harrington of Lewiston, ID, Max was raised by his maternal grandparent, Earl and Mollie Maxwell because his parents passed away in 1937 (Roy) and 1939 (Ethel). - Shortly after graduation from Lewiston High School Max enlisted in the US Army. During his Army assignment he came home on furlough, Christmas, 1954 and married his high school sweetheart, Idamarie Hall. They returned to Fort Bliss, TX where they resided for 1 ½ years. In the fall of 1956, Max started his 33 year career with the telephone company; which later became AT&T/Quest and is now CenturyLink. His many assignments moved them from Lewiston, Spokane, Yakima, Seattle and the last year Morristown, NJ. Max took an early retirement in March, 1990. - He is survived by his wife, Idamarie, their 6 children, Roy (Liz), Mark, Andrea, Kent (Viva), Sara (Chris), Paul (Marta), 13 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by sister Betty (Don) Holee on September 25, 2009. - His outside activities included, scouting, hunting, fishing, golfing, snow and water skiing, coaching youth sports, church & school organizations, bridge, and nearly 62 years devoted to Idamarie. Max will be remembered for his smile, wit, wink and love for his children, grandchildren and friends. A special thank you to Guardian Angel of Post Falls, ID for the care they provided Max in his final weeks. - Services to be held as follows at St Stanislaus Catholic Church, 633 5th Avenue, Lewiston ID: Friday, September 9th, 7 pm, Rosary; Saturday, September 10th, 9 am, Mass followed by simple reception. Procession to final burial at Normal Hill Cemetery, 1122 7th Street, Lewiston, ID.
