Mary "Heather" Seward

June 30, 1976 - May 04, 2021

Mary “Heather” Seward passed away at the age of 44 on May 4, 2021, at MultiCare Valley Hospital in Spokane Valley, WA. Heather was born June 30th, 1976 in Spokane WA. She grew up in Anchorage, Fairbanks, and the North Pole area of Alaska and made many friends that she carried into adulthood. She has called the Spokane WA area her home for roughly the past 20 years. On Saturday, June, 18th 2011, Heather Eckart and Barry Seward were married in front of loving family and friends in Coeur d’ Alene Idaho. Heather was a diligent and hardworking student who earned her AA from Spokane Community College and, in addition, received a certificate in accounting. Heather had many interests, including drawing, singing, karaoke, dancing, and rooting for the Dallas Cowboys. In addition, she loved to travel and has traveled throughout much of the United States and was able to obtain her first international passport stamp during a recent trip to Belize. Heather was preceded in death by her brother James John Eckart III whom she affectionately called Jimmy John as well as her maternal grandmother Gwendolyn and her grandfather Howard. She is loved and survived in death by her husband, Barry Seward, her daughter Jessica Hawkes, her mother Mary Schott, and her brother Dennis Eckart. In addition, she is loved and survived by numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and friends. There will be a private memorial service and a celebration of life officiated by Pastor Doug Wagley. A public graveside service for Heather will be held on Friday, May 21st at 12:30 PM at Fairmount Memorial Park, 5200 W. Wellesley. Heather has always loved Angels, is now amongst the angels in Heaven.
