Mary passed away March 5, 2017. She was born on May 25, 1932 to George and Celista Epler in Hardin, MT. The family moved to St. Maries, ID when Mary was 5 years old. She grew up there on the family farm in a large family. Mary married Homer Anderson Jr. on November 2, 1951. Thy made their home in Spokane, WA and started their family. When their youngest daughter started school, Mary went to work for School District 81 as a baker at Arlington Elementary. She baked cinnamon rolls and maple bars at school lunch for 25 years before retiring. Mary is survived by 4 children; Terrie Lynn (Clinton), Vicki, Ricky (Tammy), and Jeannette (John), grandchildren; Scott (Danielle), Nick (Kristy), Luke, Kaylene (Tiffini), Nolan, Jesse, Brice, Tia, and Eric, great-grandchildren; Caroline, Marley, Brayden, Garrett, Layla, Kaydence and Junior, sisters; Leona, Dolly, Catherine (Jim), and Ruth, brothers; John (Joyce), and Philip, along with numerous nieces and nephews. Mary was preceded in death by her husband Homer Jr. and sisters Gene, Pauline and Ellen. Mary was very active in the Northeast Senior Center and Sinto Senior Center. She enjoyed playing pinochle and bunco, sewing, reading, going out with family and friends, and especially enjoyed traveling with her siblings, meeting for monthly lunches in St. Maries, and driving up the St. Joe looking at wildlife. She loved camping, picnics, and picking huckleberries. She was an excellent baker and was a long-time member of Foresters IOF. She looked forward to working at, and judging baked goods, at area county fairs. The family would like to give a special thank you to the staff at Holy Family Hospital for their loving care to us and our Mom. A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, March 31 at 11:00 am at the Sunset Chapel inside Fairmount Memorial Park, 5200 W. Wellesley.
