Obituary for Marvin E. Peterson
PETERSON, Marvin E.
June 26, 1941 November 6, 2016
Marvin Edward Peterson embraced his Heavenly Father on November 6, 2016, after a lengthy battle with Parkinsons and bone cancer.
He was the eldest child born to Edvin and Margaret Peterson on June 26, 1941, in Spokane WA.
Marvin graduated from Freeman High School in 1959 and from WSU in 1964, where he earned a BS in Agricultural Economics. He was married to the love of his life, Judy Froese, on June 24, 1967, in Spokane. Throughout his life, Marvin enjoyed teaching others about Jesus and volunteering in his local church. He served his country during the Vietnam War as an Army Chaplains assistant in France, and later worked and retired from a 28-year career as a shop foreman at Arrow Machinery in Colfax, WA. In his retirement, Marvin developed a hobby of working with wood and continued to design and create original works until the final months of his life.
He will forever be remembered as a humble, hardworking man; a loving, devoted husband, and a strong, supportive father.
Survived by his wife Judy, of 49 years; his four children, Ron (Cindy) Peterson, Tim (Tricia) Peterson, Bonita (Mark) Koepl, and Darin (Stacia) Peterson; siblings, Richard (Penny) Peterson, Sue (Tom) Anselmo, Roger (Carol) Peterson; his wifes siblings, Bryon (Diane) Froese and Ruth Johnson; 14 grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, Edvin and Margaret Peterson.
A Celebration of Life will be held on December 5th at 1:30 in the afternoon at Valleyford Community Church, Valleyford, WA. Charities close to Marvins heart include, The Jesus Film Project (a ministry of Campus Crusade for Christ) and the Union Gospel Mission.
