1940 – 2019

Marilyn Denton passed away at home on September 8, 2019 surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Spokane on March 17, 1940 to Dr. & Mrs. William E. Jones, she graduated from Lewis
& Clark High School and started a career in commercial art. In 1967, Marilyn married Lloyd
Aaron Denton of Arlington, Texas and together they raised their children, Scott Allen Schroeder, Dawn Marie Fullmer-Hurley and Mary Deathe. The family moved to the Colbert area, where Marilyn opened and operated the Clarrah Kennel & Pet Hotel for many years. She became a master groomer and also showed Borzoi and Sheltie dogs. The Kennel occupied Marilyn’s life but she also enjoyed fishing, quilting, collecting and spending time with her grandchildren.

Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents, husband Lloyd, son Scott, sister Nancy Arnold
and brother William E. Jones, Jr. She is survived by daughter Dawn Fullmer-Hurley,
Granddaughters Chanelle, Amanda and Tiffany, grandson Brendan, four great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Marilyn was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. All are welcome to
join us for graveside services which will be held on Wednesday, September 18, 2019 at 12:30 pm at Fairmont Memorial Park, 5200 W. Wellesley Ave, Spokane, WA 99205. A reception will
follow at Fizzie Mulligans Restaurant at 2pm 331 W. Hastings Rd, Spokane, WA 99218.

In lieu of flowers, Memorial gifts may be sent to Hospice of Spokane in memory of Marilyn.
