Madaline "Madge" Althea Griner

May 23, 1918 - July 12, 2015

Madaline "Madge" Althea Griner went to her eternal home in Heaven on July 12th, 2015, at the age of 97 after a short battle with cancer. She was born on May 23, 1918 in Penawawa, WA to Hexie Eggers and Jenette Reynolds Eggers. Madge met the love of her life, Arlie Griner, of Teoka, WA. They were married in Coeur d' Alene, ID on July 29, 1940, and were married for more than 61 years, until Arlie's death in January 2002. They had two children, Dean Marshall and Anita Arlene. Madge and Arlie both worked and retired from General Telephone in Wenatchee, WA. In 1999 they moved to Mead, WA to be closer to family. Madge is survived by her son Dean and his wife Sandee, two granddaughters: Deanna (Mark) Woodrow and Leslie (David) Cowin; 10 great-grandchildren; and 11 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Arlie; daughter Anita; sisters Geraldine Steiger and Shirley Eggers; grandson-in-law Darryl Bean; and great-grandson Kellen Bean. A Memorial Service will be held at Northview Bible Church, N. 13521 Mill Rd. Spokane, WA on Friday, July 17th at 1:00pm. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Spokane, Northview Bi ble Church, or any charity of your choice.
