Mabel Marie Carolus Rees died peacefully on April 7, 2022 in her apartment at Good Samaritan. She was 100 years old and was a resident in the apartment section of Good Sam for the last 13 years. She is survived by her immediate four children Susan (Mike) Phillips, Bob (Patti) Rees, John (Cyd) Rees, and Rebecca (Darryl) Walters. She had 10 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren. Mabel was married to Buel Vernon Rees in Petersburg, Alaska on June 25, 1945, with Bill and Vivian Wallace as witnesses.
For the last 10 years of her life, Family Resource Center provided excellent care and the caregivers Carla, Patti, Jeanie, Judie, and Natalia and many others became close friends. In lieu of flowers, please donate to Shriners' Hospital for Children, 911 W 5th Ave, Spokane, WA 99206. She lived most of her life in Spokane Valley and was a happy, generous, and kind mother and full of wisdom.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, May 14, 2022 at 2 pm at Good Sam's Recreation Hall, 17117 East 8th Ave., Spokane Valley, WA.
