Mabel (Fiewig) Schoesler

January 23, 2017 - January 23, 2017

Mabel was born July 2, 1921, in Walla Walla, WA, to Philip and Molly Fiewig and passed away January 23, 2017. She graduated from Walla Walla High School in 1939, and, in 1942, married Samuel Schoesler, also of Walla Walla. They moved to Roswell, New Mexico, where Sam was stationed in the Army. After WWII, Sam and Mabel moved back to Walla Walla, where Mabel was an active member of Christ Lutheran Church. The Schoesler family eventually moved to Spokane, in 1965. Outside of the home, Mabels jobs included clerking in the grocery industry and book-keeping at Arrow Transportation. She enjoyed church activities, ceramics, gardening and flower arranging, playing cards with Bessie and Sophie, and cooking German feasts for her family. She also loved spending time at the Diamond Lake cabin. Mabel is survived by her son, Ralph (Judy); daughter, Cheryl; three grandchildren, Thad (Karrie) Schoesler, Kim (Shawn) Tresner, and Philip (Ting Ting) Schoesler; six great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents; twin sister, Mildred; brother, Hooley; sister, Olinda Wagner; and her husband, Sam. We will remember mom for her strength, humor, and unconditional love. Our family would like to thank the wonderful staff at Good Samaritan, Spokane Valley, for the loving care of our mom and their kindness to us. Donations can be made to Good Samaritan, 17121 E 8th Ave, Spokane Valley, WA 99016. A private family service is planned; there will also be a graveside service in Walla Walla in the spring. - Community Cremation & Funeral Spokane Valley - 13127 E.
