Lori L Furnish

October 01, 1965 - March 13, 2015

FURNISH, Lori L. (age 49) Lori was born in Kellogg, Idaho on October 1, 1965, to Dale and Patsy Furnish and was living in Liberty Lake, WA. She bravely fought multiple health issues with her witty humor, and passed away peacefully on March 13, 2015, from kidney failure with her family by her side. Lori was a true fan of John Wayne and had true grit. Lori graduated from University High School in 1984 and attended Eastern Washington University. She worked for Costco for over 20 years. She started out pushing carts through rain and snow and worked her way up into management. She was a good, faithful, loyal employee of Costco working in Spokane, Orem, Utah and ending up in the Lynnwood, WA store before leaving on disability and moving to Liberty Lake, WA. Lori was an avid sports fan, playing girls softball in her earlier years. Utah Jazz, Seattle Seahawks, and Seattle Mariners were her special teams. She enjoyed the roll of commissioner for fantasy football and was a walking encyclopedia for teams and players. Lori cherished summers spent at Coeur d Alene Lake with her friends and family, especially nieces and nephew, who were like her own children whom she loved to take to the candy store, mall, and have sleepovers with. Lori is survived by her parents Dale and Patsy Furnish, Spokane Valley, WA; brother, Scott (Debbie) of Woodinville, WA; sister, Lisa, Spokane Valley, WA; nieces, Lexi, Lacie, and Emily; nephew, Tyler; and grand-nephew, Kaden. She is also survived by her aunts, Carol Ann Furnish (Richard Knutson) of Creston, BC, and Betty Horn of Challis, ID; cousins, Debbie, Judy, Raynae, and Dorothy, as well as many other cousins and relatives in Canada, Norway, Idaho and Washington. She is also survived by her beloved cat Lily. Lori is preceded in death by her grandparents, Gerald and Svea Furnish and Jim and Dorothy Salyer, of Kellogg, ID, as well as her feline companions, Jordan, Duke, and Zeke. A memorial service will be held at a later date with a graveside inurnment placing her with Grandpa Jim at Greenwood Cemetery, Kellogg, Idaho. Pastor Phil Lydick, Bible Baptist Church, Spokane Valley, WA will be officiating the service. The family wishes to thank the staff at Deaconess Hospital and Hospice of Spokane for their compassionate care. The family requests memorial contributions to be made in memory of Lori to Hospice of Spokane, 122 S. Arthur Street, Spokane, WA 99202 and Union Gospel Mission, 1224 E.
