Born in Potlatch, ID. in 1926 Lonnie enjoyed a simple early life in a small town. Then the depression hit and times got tough. Seeking a better life the family moved to the Golden, ID area where Lonnie and his sisters spent their formative years in the mountains swimming, fishing, hunting, endless chores, helping their father in the mine and school in a one room school house. The family eventually returned to Potlatch where Lonnie attended high school, met his future wife Peggy Warner, and graduated in 1944. Lonnie joined the US Navy and was stationed at Great Lakes Naval Training Center. Lonnie and Peg were married Dec 21, 1944 and were lifelong companions for over 70 years. Lonnie and Peg moved to Moscow, ID where he attended University of Idaho earning a degree in Electrical Engineering.Lonnie and Peg called the Spokane Valley home raising their 5 children there. Employed with Kaiser Trentwood for over 30 years, Lonnie held key positions including Maintenance Superintendent and Environmental Engineer.

Retirement provided time for adventure including fishing almost anywhere, camping at Priest Lake and other places, winters in Arizona, travel to Mexico, care for aging relatives, and attending family events. Lonnie took up golf in his early 70’s and soon convinced family to do the same. 6:00AM T-times were common! Peg often drove the golf cart. Lonnie also enjoyed music and was a regular at the weekly dance at the Spokane Valley Senior Center.
