Obituary for Kelly Ann Elkins
Kelly Ann Elkins “Grandma Luv,” age 62, passed away unexpectedly at her home in Spokane Valley, WA on Wednesday July 7th, 2021. She is survived by her husband James Flatau, children Sheri Tripp and Cole Flatau, mother E. Louise Elkins-Ellis, father Lonnie Ellis, brother and his wife Chris and Dana Elkins, sister and her husband Marian and Don Mackenzie, sister Terry Mcfarland, grandchildren Leah, Jocelyn, Steven, Robbie, Nora, and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father, Frank Elkins.

Born in Colfax WA, Kelly spent most of her childhood in Hayden and Coeur d' Alene ID, and graduated from Coeur d' Alene High school in 1976. From there she moved to Spokane, holding a wide range of jobs throughout the years, including working with her daughter Sheri at Zenith American Solutions up until the time of her death. An accomplished writer, gardener, and artist, Kelly spent her free time satisfying her voracious talents and curiosity. She would acquire skills, hobbies, experiences, and new friends with great ease. A kind, generous, and compassionate woman, Kelly's beautiful spirit ensured that everyone walked away from a conversation with her with a warm and sunny feeling. Her friends were lifelong and deeply cherished. Her husband James was the greatest love of her life, and she was so happy they were finally together again. They had great plans for their future. A dedicated mother and grandmother, Kelly was her daughter’s greatest cheerleader, supporter and friend. She will be forever missed.
