Judy Layton, 77, of Spokane Valley, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on November 7, 2016.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, November 26, at 1:30 pm at Fairmount Sunset Chapel, 5200 West Wellesley Ave, Spokane WA, 99205.
Judy was born in Spokane to Sherman and Annabelle Wakeley on November 13, 1938. She graduated from Rogers High School in 1956.
Judy was first and foremost a mother and housewife. She also worked for a number of years in retail sales, advertising sales and in-home caregiving. She had a busy social life with never enough time to spend visiting with her countless friends and extensive family.
Judy was a prolific painter for many years and she enjoyed playing slot machines at the nearest casino. She loved current events, especially politics, big court cases and sports most of all. Her favorite teams included the Gonzaga Bulldogs, Washington State Cougars, Seattle Mariners and Seattle Seahawks.
Judy was preceded in death by her parents, Sherm and Annie, son Dave Harris, and her ex-husband Dave Layton.
Judy is survived by her brother Gary Wakeley, ex-husband Warren Harris, son Dan Harris and wife Gaylene, daughter Lori Harris Lyons and husband Dave, daughter Teresa Harris Bell and husband Gary, son Rich Layton and wife Toni, eleven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
