John Joseph Carrieres

October 16, 1959 - August 02, 2015

John Joseph Carrieres was born October 16, 1959 and went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on August 2, 2015 after battling multiple health complications. He was born in Spokane Valley where he attended St. John Vianney, University High School "Class of 1977" and graduated from EWU with an Education Degree. He played basketball at U-High where he held the single season scoring record until the year 2013. He taught in the East Valley School District for over 30 years. John was a sports enthusiast and enjoyed playing golf in his later years. John had a king sized, servant's heart and his joy came from making his family happy. He married the love of his life. Joanne in 1991. His most recent joy and love came from his beautiful granddaughters Vera and Hayden. John was preceded in death by his parents, John and Margaret. He is survived by his wife, Joanne; children, Jordan, Jeff - (Christina), Kyndria (Corbin). and Joseph; mother-in-law, Ruth Purrington; sisters, Jane, Maureen (Jim), and Mary (Todd); grand- children, Vera and Hayden; and numerous nieces and nephews who all loved him and will miss him dearly. The memorial service will be held at Valley Real Life on August 8, 2015, at LOOpm. Donations can be made in lieu of flowers to Genesis Church or Valley Real Life, both of Spokane Valley for their services in memorializing John.
