Jerry was my friend for over thirty years thru thick and thin. He was the human being in my life who taught me about unconditional love. We traipsed all over Utah, Montana, and Wyoming. Thru Yellowstone in his beloved Miata and then in a mad dash thru Montana to see if it was a good place to live. We chose Spokane.
With his diagnosis of liver cancer his world became smaller and smaller but he continued to listen to Jazz and watch movies and joke and laugh. With the wonderful help of the people at Hospice House of Spokane he was able to maintain his mind and body so long that his six month hospice prescription had to be renewed. His last couple of days were spent without pain and in very little discomfort, exactly the way he wanted to exit.
He is survived by his daughter Kerensa Daria Eaton, his son Antony Gene Smith, his former wife Deborah Robinson-Smith, his sister Bobbie Rochelle Ahern, and me, his BFF, Shannon Chrysler.
His Celebration of Life will happen this fall, if you would like to attend please send an email to JerryThePirateChef@gmail.com.
