From the day you came home from the hospital to your very last breath. Souls you brought close. Friends of many. Raised the middle son but, second to no one. Eyes wild, a heart untamed. You did it your way. We are left without you. Memories we hold. We cherish you. Rock n roll, a bass guitar, old bicycles new. A troll to watch over you. The drum skins beaten clean. A house unclean. Brothers new all around you. Who you would feed, clothe and home. An echo inside my head. The Memories I embrace. Sixers gone, now we hold on. How? What? Why? Was there something I could have done? Dirty Levi's and a flannel shirt. That inviting grin. I lay in your childhood room. Legos we played. Hide and seek in the house. The church we cleaned, to rock shows in your living room. I was 6 when I met you......now I'm 38 and you were 32. We are left without you. Hand tied Flys and fishing trips. Oh the bicycles. Everyone must ride. Let’s cruise the Centennial Trail one more time. We light nature on fire to expand our mind. But still peace we can't find. So now these memories I cherish, remembering you. Your flame will burn on and on and on.
