August 22, 1940 - March 30, 2017
Jack (Age 76) was born in Wolf Point, MT on August 22, 1940. He was the 2nd child born to Edward and Margaret Neumiller. The following year the family moved to Spokane. Jack attended Franklin Grade school and Lewis & Clark High School where he graduated in 1958. He joined the Marine reserve in 1957. The summer after graduation he did six-months of active duty, as he would each summer for years to come. Jack was employed at Safeway as a night stocker, later becoming a checker. With a growing family, he applied to the Spokane Police Department. He graduated from the Police Academy and started his career on October 1, 1965 in the patrol division, and later as a motorcycle officer. He made Detective in 1973. He worked in Commercial Burglary, The Burglary Task Force and SIU before retiring in March of 1993. In June of that year he started a new career, doing Industrial hearing tests. Once he completed the courses and certification, he began working in WA, ID, OR and MT. He later was certified to do respirator fit tests as well. As the company grew he was testing in many states throughout the US. He enjoyed working with the people he tested, other technicians and traveling to so many places. Along the way he would scout out new places for him and his wife, Judy to travel. After retiring, Jack & Judy fully enjoyed their family, friends, home, gardening and lots of traveling. Jack passed away March 30, 2017. He was preceded in death by parents, Ed & Margaret, his sister and brother in-law, Arlene and Roy Copeland. He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Judy, sons; Michael and Brian, daughter Michele (Chris) Lage', six grandchildren, five great grandchildren, and his brothers Vern and Doug. A very special thank you to Dr. Newman, her entire staff, the doctors and nurses of Tower 10 and the wonderful staff and volunteers of Hospice House South. If you wish to make a memorial donation, please consider The Spokane Law Enforcement Museum or Hospice of Spokane. A Memorial Service for Jack will be held on Saturday, April 8th at 2:00 PM at the Sunset Chapel in Fairmount Memorial Park, 5200 W. Wellesley.
