Guy David Patten

March 15, 1942 - November 14, 2018

Guy David Patten G. David Patten, age 76, of Spokane, WA, formerly of Woodinville, WA, passed away November 14th, 2018. David was born in Pocatello, Idaho on March 15, 1942. David and his twin brother, John, were the first twins to be born at Pocatello General Hospital. David spent his early years at a mining camp where his father was the manager of the Yankee Fork Gold Dredge in Sunbeam, Idaho. This led to a lifelong love of Central Idaho, “God’s Country.” David and his twin brother, John, are remembered for their mischievous adventures, otherwise known as the “JohnDavid stories.” David attended the School of Architecture at the University of Arizona in Tucson. He married Marcia Edmunds Peck on May 26th, 1979 in Carmel, CA. David had a career in Project Management, implementing manufacturing systems. He was self-taught in data processing, computer operations, systems analysis, programming, and management. David was a devoted husband, father, and brother. He had a passion for woodworking, football, history, and ice cream. David was preceded in death by his sisters, Patricia Mueller and Francis Patten. He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Marcia Peck Patten. Children: Heather (John) Doty of Clemmons, NC; Catherine (Barthold) Lichtenbelt of Ridgway, CO; Jane (Mike Cline) Patten of Spokane, WA; Bethany (Jered) Medina of Spokane, WA. Grandchildren: Trajan, Meghan, and Brandt Doty; Koen and Finn Lichtenbelt. Twin brother, John Mark Patten of Portland, OR. The family is grateful for the caring, compassionate caregivers and staff at Moran Vista Senior Living. Dave’s eleven months in their care were filled with love, friendship, laughter and high-fives. Dave’s favorite greeting to staff was an enthusiastic “YO.” Join us in a celebration of Dave’s life at an Open House on Saturday, December 8th, 2018, 3-6pm at Marcia’s home. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Northwest Parkinson’s Foundation at www.nwpf.org.
