Obituary for Glenda Mae Mathews
MATHEWS, Glenda M.
On July 5, 2023 our dear mom Glenda M. Mathews (Rowatt) passed away after six years of battling Dementia. She was 84 years old; born September 26, 1938 in St. Maries, Idaho to Glenn and Alta Rowatt.
Glenda was preceded in death by her middle daughter Chris Hogan (Mathews) and both of her parents. She is survived by her daughter Renee Kinyon and husband Doug, Michelle (Shelly) Bronsch and her husband Bill, sisters Peggy Withers (Ken), Pat McKee and brother Dan Rowatt (Nancy), five grandchildren and five great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
A very loving and responsible single mom who raised three daughters, she worked for Central Valley school district for 27 years. Glenda also worked at Playfair Race Course for many years. She loved doing things with her family. She enjoyed watching sports on TV especially Gonzaga basketball. She loved going to the casino and reading all sorts of books. She lived the last five years at Moran Vista Assisted Living facility on the South Hill.
Glenda’s Memorial service will be held at the Pines Cemetery Mausoleum, 12116 E 16th Ave, Spokane Valley, WA, on July 20, 2023 at 2:00 pm. In lieu of flowers please send donations to Hospice of Spokane.
