Obituary for George Lavern Hylton
George L. Hylton, Jr.
George was born February 7, 1965 in Tacoma, Washington. His younger years were spent in Panama, Seaside, California and completed high school in Hanau, Germany. He went to college at WSU, then finished his bachelor’s in International Affairs at EWU where he worked on a Master of Public Administration. His final years were spent working in finance.
His children were born the day after his birthday, which was always an odd twist. His family and German heritage were always very important to him.
George enjoyed traveling and helped his in-laws trek through Germany with his German language skills. He learned to SCUBA and dove into Stingray City in Grand Cayman Island, drove his kids across the country to see Mount Rushmore and took them to San Diego to see the amusement parks.
Another of his favorite pastimes was watching the professional sports of Seattle with his friends. The Seahawks were always the favored team, the Mariners (despite their record) and the Sonics generated his spirit, and it was repeatedly his preferred event. He enjoyed playing on a pool league, and usually had a pretty good record of wins. He had a lot of friends and was typically the most comical in the group.
Survivors are his miraculous twins Sophie Marie and Jackson Cole, Herb and Kelly Hylton and their daughters Tina and Katie, his aunt Kiki Waider, Hap and Liz English and their daughters and Ann and Bill Howard. Another two missing George are his dogs Ramsay and Sammy. He was preceded in death by his parents George Sr. and Elfi Hylton.
A gathering to celebrate his life will be held at a later date.
