FISCHER, George Edward George E. Fischer, devoted husband, father, and grandfather, passed away on Monday, February 29, 2016. George was born September 21, 1935 in Colville Wa. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Thelma; daughter Debbie Schroetlin (Arlen); sister Edie Snider (Craig); sister Helen Fischer; grandchildren: Kyle Wagner, Philip Schroetlin, Kayla Schroetlin and Lukas Schroetlin. He is preceded in death by his daughter Carleen Gow; his parents George and Edith Fischer; his brothers William, Kenneth, and Harold, and his sister Evelyn. George graduated from Kettle Falls High School, then served in the Army from 1958-1960, followed by a career as a pipe fitter for fire protection sprinkler systems. In his retirement George enjoyed fishing, gardening, watching sports, and life in the country. He was also very active in the Seventh Day Adventist Church where he faithfully served as an Elder for many years. A memorial service will be held Thursday, March 10, 2016 at 10 am at Fairmount Memorial Park in Spokane.
