Passed away peacefully of natural causes in her home on the evening of October 13, 2015 at the age of 92. Gennie was born on Dec 6, 1922 in Springfield, Missouri. She married Kenneth Tarkington on May 10, 1944. They moved to Santa Monica, CA where they owned and operated Hallmark Cleaners for over thirty years. She worked hard to make it a successful business and moved to Spokane to retire in 1992. Gennie was very talented and had a wonderful sense of humor. She would let Ken tell the stories but always added her clever wit into every one of them. Kenneth and Gennie were happily married for 70 years. Gennie is survived by her grandchildren, Bret, Mark and Kelly and her great grand-children, Maya and Myrin. She is preceded in death by her husband Kenneth Tarkington and her son Gary Tarkington. Gennie will be buried with her husband Kenneth in a small private ceremony.
