BORCHERT, Erna Käte (née Weimer)
Erna died peacefully in her home on January 4, 2019 in Spokane, WA at the age of 81.
Erna is survived by her son, Helmut Borchert; grandson, Doran Borchert; and nephew George Weimer, all of Spokane. Erna was preceded in death by her parents and her three brothers and three sisters.
Erna was born on January 26, 1937 in Oschelbronn, Germany to Eugene and Pauline Weimer. Erna and her son Helmut emigrated to Spokane with her sister Hilda in the summer of 1960. Erna worked in several restaurants in Spokane including the Chic-a-Ria German Inn (now Das Stein Haus). She enjoyed her afternoons at Playfair racetrack and the casinos.
A memorial service is scheduled for 10:30 am on January 18, 2019 at Fairmont Memorial Park, 5200 W Wellesley, Spokane, WA. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Erna’s life.
