Obituary for Ellen S Bell
Ellen (Age 53) was born November 21, 1964 to Patricia Joan (France) Nuxoll and John William Nuxoll. She passed away March 27, 2018. Ellen was born in Spokane and passed away here, which would seem rather dull, but she's traveled twice to Europe in 1986 and again in 1991. She also traveled extensively in the U.S. and visited Hawaii and Canada on a few occasions. Ellen grew up in Edmonds, WA, and graduated from Woodway HS in 1983. She joined the Air Force and was initially stationed at Fairchild AFB, which is where she met and married her husband Brian, of thirty-one years. She was then stationed at RAF Lakenheath in the UK, where she was subsequently retired. She then traveled with her husband to Germany and then to Texas, where she had her daughter Sabrina. Ellen and her husband eventually found their way back to Spokane where they settled down to raise their daughter. Ellen loved being a stay-at-home mom; caring for their home, and was especially proud of her beautiful and extensive garden. Ellen was very active in volunteering at Sabrina's schools whenever and wherever possible and assisting with her Girl Scout Troop as well. Ellen is preceded in death by both her parents and is survived by her husband Brian and their daughter Sabrina, their three cats Scooby, Holly, Sprite and their dog Neka. She is also survived by her older siblings Mike, Mary and Steve. Ellen passed away peacefully at the Mann-Grandstaff VA Medical Center after a year and a half battle with cancer. A public remembrance will be held at the Crestline Baptist Church 2206 E. 44th Ave in Spokane on the 14th of April from 1400-1600. Ellen will receive Military Funeral Honors at the Tahoma National Cemetery in Kent WA, on the 18th of June at 1300. In lieu of flowers the family requests that a donation in her name be made to the National Multiple Sclerosis society or locally here at SCRAPS.
