Ellen C Jensen

JENSEN, Ellen C. (age 93) Ellen was born September 9, 1921, in Latah, WA, to William and Etta Tandy, and passed away March 21, 2015, in Spokane, WA. Ellen resided in Spokane and for some time at Hauser Lake, ID. She worked for Spokane Community College for many years before taking an early retirement to start working for ITRON. Ellen was the first lady of ITRON, very first employee and, following many years, was also the first to retire from ITRON. Among her pastimes, Ellen enjoyed knitting, quilting, refurbishing antiques and crafts of many kinds; she always had her hands busy doing something. She loved watching golf and was a die-hard ZAGS fan. Ellen was also a member of VFW Ladies Auxiliary and many Bridge Clubs throughout the years. She was a very kind-hearted woman who enjoyed the presence of family and friends; those for which she would do anything for. Ellen is survived by her brother, Everett Tandy; grandson’s, Scott (Leah) Jensen, Kory (Amber) Jensen; great-grandchildren, Jacob, Taylor, Jamie, Haiden, Michael, Ashlee, Christian and Ethan; nieces, Connie Brumleve, Irene (Midge) Flett and Lisa Tandy; and nephews, Bill Martin, Ken Tandy, and Charles Tandy. She is preceded in death by, her husband, Edward F. Jensen; son, Michael E. Jensen; brother, Charles Tandy; sisters, Cora McGowan, and Marjorie Martin; mother, Etta Tandy; and father, William Tandy. There will be a graveside memorial service at Pines Cemetery, 1402 S. Pines Road, Spokane, WA (at the south side of the cemetery), April 17, 2015, at 3:00 P.M.
