Elaine Ruth Newsom

January 27, 1935 - May 15, 2014

Elaine Ruth Newsom (Kittilstved) born January 27th 1935, a long-time resident of the Chattaroy-Elk area, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Thursday the 15th of May at Avalon Care Center. Elaine retired from Deaconess Hospital in Spokane, Washington after 28 years as a Pharmaceutical Technician and Buyer. She loved bingo, bowling, penny slots, and most of all enjoyed a donut every morning with her coffee and looked forward to her one afternoon cocktail. Very much adored by friends and family, she will live on forever in our hearts. Elaine was a beloved Wife, dedicated Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, Sister, Aunt, and Friend. She was married to Max Eugene Newsom Sr. for 58 blissful years before her passing. She leaves her loving memories to be cherished by her devoted husband Max Sr., and 3 children: Karen Van Dyke from Montana, Max Newsom Jr., and Mark Newsom both from Washington. Elaine is survived by her 7 brothers, 2 sisters, as well as 6 Grandchildren and 8 Great Grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her mother Bernice, father Jack and 1 of her brothers, Andrew Kittilstved. Out of respect for Elaine wishes and her husband, Max Sr., they requested that there be no services.
