Edward passed away peacefully on July 23, 2018 in Spokane, WA.
Born in Springdale, WA on November 16, 1928 to Edward I. and Hazel Underwood Smith. Raised and attended schools in the Springdale, WA area.
Served in the US Army as a SP3(T) in Germany then transferred to Army Reserves in 1955. After the army he married Edith I. Weaver and together had two sons, Richard E. and Raymond H. Worked locally in the lumber, ironworks and farming industries. Spent leisure time fishing at Waitts Lake, Valley, WA.
Survived by his sister, Sarah A. Simpson and brother, Willis R. Smith both of Spokane; two granddaughters and several great grandchildren.
A memorial graveside service to honor Ed is to be held on Wednesday, August 8, 2018 at 10:30am at Fairmount Memorial Park, 5200 W Wellesley Ave., Spokane WA 99205. Donations on his behalf can be given to Hospice of Spokane.
