Edward Byrns Packwood - 6/20/1935 - 08/31/2015
Ed passed away quietly at Sacred Heart at the age of 83 after a long battle with Parkinsons Disease.
He proudly served in the Air Force for 23 years and retired at the rank of SMSG.
Ed resided in Oldtown, ID for 28 years and had a deep appreciation for the beauty of this area. One of his favorite things to do was go for long drives that he called daisy runs and just take in the wildlife and scenery.
He will be remembered for his wry sense of humor and his determination to overcome the physical limitations imposed on him by injuries and illness. As his Parkinsons tremors worsened, he would joke about "getting a job making milkshakes." When frustrated he would say. "Some day I'm going to do things my way if it hairlips every cow in Texas!"
Ed's wish was to be cremated. There will not be a public service and the family asks that any who wish to do something in his memory make a donation to the cause of your choice.
Ed is survived by his wife Barbara and a large extended family. We will miss him dearly!
