Obituary for Donna M Troy
After a lengthy battle against cancer, our loving mother Donna May Roberts Beal Troy (Age 81) passed away on March 5, 2018 in Otis Orchards, WA. Donna was the daughter of John Evan Roberts & Hattie May (Brown) Roberts, born on December 9, 1936, and was the youngest of 10 children. Donna is survived by her son Douglas Beal (w. Robbin) Newman Lake, WA, and daughter Loretta (Lorie) Vernon (h. Frank) Otis Orchards, WA, 5 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her loving husband Robert L Troy in 1998, her parents, nine siblings, & granddaughter Tamara. Donna spent several years employed in customer service (including Albertson’s, JC Penney, The Crescent, and McCoy’s Crafts). Her entrepreneurial spirit led her to self-employment (A-Valley Texaco & Towing), making and selling her own crafts (Troy's Treasures), and as an Avon representative (earning the President's Club award multiple years in a row). Before retiring, she spent her days at Players & Spectators managing the front desk in the bowling alley. Donna enjoyed bowling, square dancing, arts & crafts, playing games with family, and cake decorating. She was a member of the WBCCA for several decades. She loved spending time with her family and socializing with her numerous acquaintances. A Memorial Service will be held in Donna's honor on Saturday, March 31 at 11:00 am at Word of Life Community Church, 6703 N. Idaho Road, Newman Lake, WA 99025. The family will hold a private interment service at the Washington State Veterans Cemetery in Medical Lake at a later date.
