Donald Gardner Wallace

September 27, 1941 - February 09, 2021

Donald Gardner Wallace, Jr. of Spokane, Washington passed away on February 9, 2021 at the age of 79 after a difficult battle with Parkinson’s. Donald Wallace, Jr. was born on September 27, 1941 to Donald Gardner Wallace, Sr. and Betty Ryan Wallace in Montclair, New Jersey. After graduating from Clarion High School in 1960, Don pursued a BS degree in physical education at Mississippi Southern College. Don lived a life of independence and adventure. During the summer of his sophomore year at Mississippi Southern College, he and friend Jed Hannon rode their bicycles from West Essex, New Jersey to Sacramento, California. The 3,300 mile-long-trip took an astounding 38 days! Throughout his life, Don embraced an active and healthy lifestyle and encouraged others to do the same. Don lived in Spokane for 25 years and was a familiar figure to local residents as he walked, ran, and biked along South Hill roads and trails. Don was often accompanied by his dog and constant companion Kimmie who passed away in 2020. Don was a beloved neighbor and friend and will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Please consider a donation to your local animal shelter in honor of Don’s enduring love for his furry friends.
